Is MSDN a part of Visual Studio 6.0a or are they one and the same or are
they separate components?
In other words, if I find one of the last updates to Visual Studio 6.0a will
they contain the MSDN Library?

I'm not sure what Visual Studio 6.0a is, but I see the title "MSDN Library
Visual Studio 6.0 release" when I open my 1998 MSDN Library which references
MS-DOS, Win95 and WinNT 3.5&4.0
I also see the phrase "Visual Studio" on the splash screen when launching
Visual Basic 6.0 IDE and Visual C++ 6.0 IDE.

The files on my CDs are circa 1998.
Any insight will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Tracey

I found some {webpage} indexes showing the following:

???? Visual Studio® 6.0, Professional Edition, Disc 1 Oct 2001 MSDN

Hi Tracey (again),

Visual Studio used to be supplied with the MSDN docuemntation, but
there was new documentation released every 3 months.

You need documentation around 2001, as it has most things you need for
VS6 development. Having said that, no amount of MSDN documentation can
be as good as MSDN online, TechNet, and google...

October 2001 is the last MSDN library shipment that targeted VS6. All MSDN
shipments after that target .NET.

Thanks Shawn, I knew it was 2001 but couldn't remember which one.
Cheers!
